Granite Hills Walleye Derby, July 9th 2016
So many people to thank!
Thanks to the 167 peeps that came out to fish the event yesterday. Better yet, over 30 of the 167 were children under 12.
Congrats to the winners, the big fish was caught by Nancie Nardella-Wyatt with a 28.5 incher, Danny Toth with a 26 incher and the kids under 12 went to Kaleigh with a 17 incher. Also a big Congrats to Sandra Jean Ferguson for winning the Alumacraft 14 foot John boat!
Thanks to Dean and family from Lukes Town Service for coming out and setting up tents, and bringing frisbees and suckers for all the kids. Another big thanks to Danny Kleinsasser and Danny's Whole Hog for the delicious Pulled Beef, it is a great new product and can't wait to have it again!! Thanks for coming out and fishing the event with your family. It was great to see you. Also big thanks to you and Isaiah for stepping up and helping us serve the food. I can't wait to see the drone footage Isaiah!
Thanks to Mike and Karen Watt for all your help, picking up prizes and food and giving out prizes and food! Thanks to Ginette Goulet for going to pickup the food at Danny's on Friday, bringing it out and cooking. Madison Tait and her mom Sandi were great as they organized all the prizes on the tables... A big shout out to Brenda Kelly-Delorme and Marc Delorme for coming out to help for the day and helping us with the supper. And a big shout to Mike Dotoli for being the master DJ /annoucer!! Great job as usual Mike. Also.. one last thanks to my wife Lorraine Enns-Goulet for all your support for the derby planning and preparation.
We had 9 competitors the first year we did this... just to give everyone an idea of how much we have grown.
I am very happy to say we have raised over $3400 for Kidfish and for Soldier On. Thanks everyone!!!

We had a great turnout with 181 entries and the weather was beautiful, It was in the high 30's.
The prizes for the 3 biggest fish in each catagory:
1st place Steve Prozyk with a 30.25
2nd place Mike WattWatt with a 29.5
3rd place Wayne Gee with a 28.5
1st place Joanne M Talbot with a 27.25
2nd place Kaitlynne Gosselin with a 26 7/8
3rd place Amber Klopak with a 23.25
1st place Colton Loreth with a 24 7/8
2nd place Sydney Loreth with a 23.5
3rd place Kylie Loreth with a 22.0
Longest catch by a Waam member went to Mike Watt. $250 gift card donated by Enns Brothers.
Tons of fisher people got door prizes! Thanks to all the sponsors and people who donated stuff!! The biggest door prize winner was Marnie Guzzi winning the Alumacraft Jon Boat donated by Luke's Town Service and Guertin Marine. A big thanks to Andrew Klopak who was able to make this happen!!
Also a big thanks to the man who brought the flavor!! Thanks Danny Kleinsasser of Danny's Whole Hog BBQ. The pulled pork was excellent as usual and we really appreciate you always stepping up to the plate!!! Also thanks for the ice cream.. whoever stuck around really enjoyed it. It was very hot!!! Thanks Danny!!!!
I almost forgot to thank the guy with the loudest voice!! Thanks Mike Dotoli for emceeing the event. Took a lot to get thru that heat. Thanks Buddy!!

For $20 for adults and $10 for kids under 12... you fish all day, come out to Granite Hills Park, have a pulled pork dinner from my good buddy Danny Kleinsasser from Danny's Whole Hog and then get a chance of winning a great door prize... just for participating!!!
Rod's, reels, tackle or how about a 14 foot Alumacraft jon boat generously donated by Alumacraft, Guertin Marine and Luke's Town Service!
We also have a pair of Jets tickets from Glen Lawn Home for the upcoming Jet's hockey season.
